I bought 2 slinkies from the dollar bins at Target. I thought these would be great fun for the boys. Well, the slinkies didn't work but the boys still had hours of fun. Who doesn't have fun with a slinky????

A couple of bucks for a few hours of entertainment sounds like a good investment to me...slinkies always were fun until they got tangled up...then only frustrating.
